Description
The is a female Orange-breasted Bunting that I saw in Mexico. These buntings are not found in Canada or the United States so it was a treat to see them. The females have some striking colours but the males are shockingly colourful. Unfortunately the males had a knack for staying just outside of my effective camera range.EDIT - link for version with higher contrast and saturation added

Also suggesting a healing of the green branch below.

would replace it with a blue background, a tree a few clouds and a spaceship..
choose one from the list !

I also wish the sky wasnt grey, but thats what you frequently get photographing birds in the wild, and its not a bad background after all.

I really love the simplicity and purity of the photo.
Very nicely done.
PS ... the green twig doesn't seem out of place to me at all.

This wasn't actually taken with sky as the back ground. There were shrubs and trees behind this bird but it was a foggy morning. The good news is the fog blotted out distracting background objects. The bad news is the greyness.

I think it could use more contrast though.
That green thing is a bit distracting.
