Really beautiful capture. I wish the stalk near the right wasn't clipped at the top, but that's a minor issue. Yeah, I saw in the forecast that you guys were getting snow out west. Crazy! I hope the system does head our way.

Thanks Trevor. There's some sky that doesn't work as background above the highest stalk. Maybe I could clone some additional background but I also want to avoid too much space around the other stalks of grass. You seem to get a lot more bad winter storms in the east than we do in Alberta - our biggest snowfalls always seem to wait for spring.

Thanks for the explanation, Don. Makes sense, and I would have done the same thing in those circumstances. As for the snow, we've certainly received our share of it this winter! I don't mind though, as shoving is about the only decent exercise I get (aside from walking around with the camera gear). Anyway, better bundle up, I hear that you've got more on the way.

Snow yesterday??? Yuk!! I was lying in the sun at the beach yesterday in Rhode Island, 70°F, 21°C!! A very nice shot! Good DOF, shutter speed. I like the captured snowflakes and the sharp focus. Nice work!

Wonderful photo Don. I have one very similar to this. I like the DOF and the contrast between snow and dark background areas. I agree about that one grass stalk that rises above the top border. It would be easy to heal that area.
