An odd composition but I think it works. Would prefer to see more of the owl.

I really like this "different" composition. The unusual composition makes it even stronger than the "perfect" comps...

Wish maybe for more focus on the owl (selective focus) and a more out of focus (blurred) background (the yellow:ish branch section that is)...

A full frontal view of the owl was not possible due to trees blocking the view. The owl's back was in plain view from another location and several photographers (including myself) were waiting for it to turn around or turn its head. We were rewarded when it eventually turned its head in our direction, but I think that this partial view is much more interesting than some of my other photos that show the whole owl.

I would probably crop from the right and center the owl in the composition.
